The Blackwater Valley Opera Festival has a well sung reputation for presenting wide and varied musical talent, what we are less well known for and would like to sing about now, is the exceptional culinary talent we bring to the Blackwater Valley each year.
We are delighted to introduce Our Guest Chef this year, Rose Greene. Rose has worked in some of the most renowned restaurants internationally, where her aim was to learn from the best in the field. She ran the kitchen of a one Michelin starred restaurant, Du Wulf in Belgium.
Her work then veered towards building connections with farmers and producers, and also focused on research and development alongside the micro-biology department of Antwerp university, which, gave rise to new ideas and a new focus on the health benefits of fermented foods and the sourcing of nutrient-rich produce.
Over the last 2 years Rose has developed a more sustainable approach to life in the food sector in Westmeath, including the development of 4Hands Food Studio (Instagram: @4ands_food_studio) in order to channel all of her knowledge, expertise and passion down the right path. Come savour the delights of Rose’s cooking before the clarinet-cello-piano trio play at Dromore Yard on Thursday, 30th May. We can’t wait to welcome you there.
