Relive Ireland’s Summer Opera Festival with our first BVOF highlights reel for you to enjoy! Catch some of the most memorable moments from this year’s epic festival – the first of our mini film productions to celebrate BVOF 2022. This year we welcomed an incredible 4,200 visitors over seven days, with 19 events – including opera, concerts, recitals, education programmes and dining.
Thank you to all of our performers, musicians, audiences and supporters! Alongside our opera production of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice in the grounds of Lismore Castle featuring CoisCéim Dance Theatre and the Irish Baroque Orchestra, some of our BVOF highlights included concerts in Dromore Yard featuring the incredible Giovanni Bellucci, Maurice Steger and Friends, the Irish Baroque Orchestra with Nuria Rial and Juan Sancho, and BVOF Voices of Ukraine featuring three internationally acclaimed Ukrainian artists, with all ticket proceeds to UNICEF Ireland.
1000s of visitors enjoyed our free lunchtime open-air lunchtime recitals in Youghal, Fermoy, Lismore and Dungarvan; schools night at the opera – a free, full scale dress rehearsal production of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice in the grounds of Lismore Castle, Co. Waterford; as well as classical music concerts and recitals throughout Waterford and Cork.

Blackwater Valley Opera Festival is Ireland’s Summer Opera Festival, joyfully engaging audiences through a creative and imaginative programme of opera and classical music along the beautiful Blackwater Valley. The festival showcases emerging Irish talent alongside established international artists and delivers memorable and inspirational experiences which enrich the cultural life of the region.
