Celebration of Mobile Music Machine’s educational partnership with BVOF

From its inception the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival has always put its music education front and centre. It was the vision of co-founders Dieter Kaegi and Jennifer O’Connell to offer school children the opportunity to experience opera in the sublime setting of the Old Stable Yard at Lismore Castle.
From the early days of the first performances seats were offered to school children of the area. A generous, annual, philanthropic donation from the David Ross Foundation has enabled us to develop that into a full-blow performance each year dedicated to schools, this has become part of our DNA.
This year the BVOF has partnered with a group of inspirational musicians called the Mobile Music Machine. Our joint aim is to take music into local primary schools to awaken children’s love of rhythm and song in an invigorating and innovative way. Watch the video it says it all.
