Beyond the current COVID-19 emergency, our sense of community at Blackwater Valley Opera Festival is stronger than ever, and we are pleased to announce that a number of activities will be rescheduled to a date later this year.
We are looking forward to presenting an Autumn programme of recitals and concerts in some of our stunning Festival venues on the weekend of 10th/11th October 2020. This programme will provide vital employment opportunities for a number of Irish artists and will help to generate important economic and cultural activity in the region. A full schedule of event details will be announced in due course.
BVOF will also continue its 2020 Schools Education programme when schools re-open. On an ongoing basis the Festival works with 35 secondary and primary schools across the region. BVOF have committed to the development of a pilot ‘Singing Schools’ project with Music Generation Waterford and we will deliver music education workshops in the following schools later in the year:
