Primary schools across Waterford and East Cork are invited to apply for Discover Opera and Discover Singing, the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival education programme delivered in partnership with Music Generation Waterford.
Building on more than a decade of music education across County Waterford and Cork, these curriculum-linked workshops bring professional musicians into classrooms, supporting confidence, listening skills, and creative engagement with opera and vocal music.

Separately, the Opera Dress Rehearsal for Schools of Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart takes place at Lismore Castle on Monday 25 May 2026.
Due to its mature themes, this opera is recommended for ages 12 and over, and discretion is advised. This year’s experience is aimed at secondary school students and youth groups, offering insight into how a full-scale opera is brought together on stage.
